Alana Shapazian Hill

Alana Shapazian Hill is an arts educator, instructional coach, and arts manager with extensive experience advancing music and arts education at the district and community levels. She serves as a Teacher on Special Assignment in Fresno Unified School District’s Arts Education Department, where she leads professional learning, supports arts integration, and coaches educators across disciplines. Her work centers on equity, literacy connections, and sustainable arts programming.

A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Alana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Music with concentrations in Jazz Composition and Music Business, along with advanced credentials in educational leadership. She has produced large-scale district festivals and plays a key role in managing the R.E.A.L. Arts Collaborative (Relevant Engagement through Art & Literacy), which bridges creative practice with academic learning in a gallery setting.

Since 2004, Alana has been part of the artist relations and production team at the Monterey Jazz Festival, supporting artists and event operations for one of the world’s most respected jazz festivals. She also serves on the board of the Fresno Arts Council, advocating for expanded access to arts education and cultural opportunities. Her career reflects a deep commitment to artists, educators, and the transformative power of the arts.
