JAZZ TUNE UP

A teaching festival designed to make your ensembles better.

“Thank you so much for helping facilitate Wayne's visit. The students were blown away, I was amazed, and it was just an incredible learning experience and inspiration for all of us. I cannot say enough good things about the workshop. I am looking forward to utilizing this CAJ service every semester if we can manage it. Please extend our heartfelt gratitude to Wayne for his generous spirit! What an incredible musician!”

JAZZ TUNE-UP

The purpose of Jazz Tune-Up is to make your ensembles better.  Directors can have their bands “come as they are” - you do not/should not try to have your groups be performance‐ready. The idea is to work on concepts that are lacking. It’s casual – a workshop environment. You may structure the Tune-Up to fit your needs. There are three types of Tune-Ups.

WHERE & WHEN

Clinics will take place in person in various venues throughout the state. There are three formats:

I. The “Festival” Tune-Up

This format allows you to host other schools and use two clinicians throughout the day.
$200 per group for non-members (includes membership) and $150 for members.

II. The One-on-One Tune-Up

This is one-on-one with a clinician (in person) to work with your group.
$250 per group for non-members (includes membership) and $200 for members.

III. The Online Tune-Up

This is one-on-one with a clinician via an online Zoom/Skype/Facetime type platform.
$200 per group for non-members (includes membership) and $150 for members.
